True fitness isn’t just physical—it's training your mind to be as resilient, focused, and unstoppable as your body. At Mentally Fit With Ellin, we build strength from the inside out.
A Reminder: We’re All Works in Progress
This past weekend, I found myself reflecting on something that really stuck with me, and I wanted to share it with you. It’s a simple but important reminder—one that I need just as much as anyone else.
I’ll keep this short (a quick 3-minute read).
It’s important for me to share this because it’s real. I always strive to keep things real with you, which is an important value of mine. I talk a lot about mental fitness—about creating systems, setting boundaries, and building a life that supports your well-being. But let’s be honest… I don’t always get it right.
There are days when I preach about the importance of sleep, only to stay up late scrolling my phone. I encourage clients to take time for themselves, but sometimes I push through exhaustion instead of resting. I talk about saying no to things that drain my energy, yet I still catch myself overcommitting constantly.
The truth? The work I do isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about actively working toward something better and being a constant learner.
When I write about setting boundaries, I’m reinforcing them for myself—every single day. When I share strategies to manage stress, I’m reminding myself to use them too. My content isn’t just for you—it’s a reflection of what I’m learning and improving on in real time.
So, if you ever feel like you “should” have it all together, let this be a reminder: No one does. We’re all a work in progress. We are all learning. If someone says they have it all figured out—they are lying.
The goal isn’t perfection—it’s direction.
3 Mentally Fit Mindset Shifts
As you reflect on this, ask yourself these 3 key questions to help shift your mindset and build mental fitness:
Am I focusing on progress, not perfection?
Shift your focus from trying to get everything perfect to making small, consistent improvements. Remember, growth is about direction, not destination. How can I embrace my mistakes and setbacks as learning opportunities?
Instead of beating yourself up over missteps, ask yourself: What can I learn from this? Mistakes are part of the journey and an essential part of building mental fitness.Am I giving myself the space to be human and still move forward?
Accept that you don’t need to have it all figured out. Being human means you’ll have days of doubt and imperfection. It’s okay—what matters is continuing to move forward with intention and grace.
What I Want You to Know
Be real with yourself. It’s okay not to have it all figured out or to struggle with practicing what you preach. Growth starts with honesty.
Embrace being a work in progress—it's vital for building mental fitness. Growth isn’t linear; it’s full of lessons, setbacks, and triumphs.
Giving yourself permission to make mistakes creates space for real transformation. Focus on progress, not perfection. Every day is a new opportunity to grow.
Final Thought
When you read my posts, keep in mind that I’m not just sharing things I’ve mastered—maybe some of them, yes, I’ve built into a routine, but I’m sharing ideals I’m still striving for and working on daily. Some days I get closer to them, and other days I fall short.
And honestly, that’s what matters most: I’m sharing real, not perfect, experiences.
We’re all working toward becoming better versions of ourselves, even as we navigate the imperfections along the way.
